Silly Adult Tricks

Last night hubby and I were snuggled on the couch watching LEAF HOCKEY!! When we both wondered why the over head lights were on. Neither of us wanting to get up so out of no where hubby took off his hat & tossed it clear across the room & some how turned the lights off.
I bet he could never do this again no matter how hard he tries. My poor abs hurt so much from laughing so hard.

Sewing Again

I think my sewing machine might get a work out this week. I'm unexpectedly off work, length of vacation unknown. So I went to Hobby Lobby today bought fabric. Tomorrow To wash iron & get cutting. Tomorrow afternoon Hubby and I are going to go golfing.
Not sure what the rest of the week holds.

Times Up

Today was a cleaning Marathon day and laundry. It's ten to 4 and I am finally sitting down for a minute before I go pick up darling daughter from the bus. We have a family coming back for a 2nd showing tonight.. Fingers crossed. This meant cleaning things like ovens & soaker tubs... Its' as good as it gets.

Of other note, Hubby had a few good days last weekend but he's heading back down the path to debilitating headaches again. Not good. He's now keeping a food, activity and pain journal to see what it is. The week he got out of the hospital he stopped taking the medication they gave him but obviously that's not the cause of the headaches. We have all his images from the various scans they did so hopefully soon he'll give our GP the green light to make a referral to the University affiliated hospital in our town. Maybe then we'll get some answers... He continues to work & be a trooper..

Hubby's memory

Hubby's got a good memory, however the week he has just spent in the hospital is a complete blurr to him.
It was our middle girls 5th birthday while he was in the hospital. We waited all day for big sister to get home from school so we could take her gifts to the hospital and open them with daddy.
He was awake kinda while we did the gifts but I realized yesterday he has not memory of this day or any others while in the hospital. Hubby had to ask our little bday girl to show him the presents she got. :(

The ongoing adventures of the never ending MIGRANE

Hubby had a stomach flu several weeks back and then a few days later he started with a HEADACHE. This headache is NEVER ending. Five weeks later, MRI, Lumbar puncture & CT SCan still not going away. Hubby is being followed by a neurologist who on Thursday prescribed medication with the disclaimer that he might need hospital admission for the IV drugs. Saturday hubby's headache got worse, how that's possible I have no clue. But it was bad enough that he asked to go to the hospital. I had to leave work early to take him there. It's now the next night & he's still in hospital receiving IV medications and there hasn't been any change in his headache yet. Fingers crossed that it will start to work soon.

The Neurologist figures it's going to take MANY days to kick this thing in the ASS... since he's had it for 4-5 weeks..

It's Friday

Well its friday. Hubby still has his HEADACHE (if that's what we call it 4 weeks later) The neurologist said all the test were normal. We got to our appt late yesterday cuz some clown decided to cut us off & crash into us. We were all okay but that caused a delay in getting to our appt & caused hubby's BP to be 160/104 (that's HIGH). So hubby is now on medications for migranes & if that doesn't work on Tuesday he'll be admitted to hospital for IV therapy medication x2 days.

Of other note. Our House went on the market yesterday early afternoon we had two showings last night & another today. Hopefully this will work out for us. The goal of this is to down size our yard so that we can spend more time as family and less time working on the yard.

My Hubby

My hubby is a unique guy & that's why I love him so. He never sits still, if theres a project to be done it's done ASAP. Grass does not grow under my hubby's feet. He can clean circles around me and always seems to get more done than I can. I'm okay with that..

But when he gets sick it's never normal/routine. A few years back he had SEVERE back pain which led to numerous CTSCAN & MRI done to determine eventually everything was fine.

Several weeks ago he had what we thought was a GI flu. After 4 days of tossing his cookies he went to the dr' & got anti emetic which finally made life a little better. But then a HEADACHE hit my hubby. A headache which has kicked him in the ass. My hubby has been in bed more now than I think I've ever seen him. He's been for Massage therapy, chiro, CT, and to the GP & ER. He went to the neurologist this week and has now had MRI & lumbar puncture (needle in the back). He still has a headache and significant pain.

NOW we wait till next week to get the results.

Glad

Some days I'm glad to go to work. Sat hubby had a mission to find the stink that was near the pool deck
with all the lounging we've been doing pool side it was a nasty smell

Sad Daddy

Hubby has been blessed with three little princesses and until Wednesday night one if not two of them were planning on marrying their daddy when they grew up. Last night our school aged daughter told all of us the "law". Apparently she's getting a well rounded education & she's learned how it's against the law to marry your father, or any siblings. Not sure why/how that would come up in kindergarten but the 4 year old was sad to hear she couldn't marry her daddy. Hubby was a little sad that her innocence is slipping away. Guess we better start saving for 3 weddings.

Did I mention she has a boyfriend at school who she blushes when we mention his name. Luckily it's just at school, no request for play dates or anything like that. We'll see what happens when she has her birthday in a couple weeks.

Where to start......

I'm a year older & Valentines day is over!

Wednesday Feb. 11 I took the little girls shopping and few pairs of rainboots were bought. (Mommy needed a pair & thanks to her inlaws for the cash). Wednesday afternoon was puddle jumping & fun in the mud. Then we were giving the girls a bath before dinner to warm them up, when I heard the garage door open. Humm what is hubby doing home so early. I had his valentines day gift on the counter. Thank goodness grandma was helping with baths so I ran, hid the gift & saw hubby. He greeted me with. "go change your pants" apparently he didn't like the mud streaked pants I was wearing. We then said good night to the girls (I thought I'd be back to give them kisses) but to my surprise we were going downtown for the night. Hubby had arranged with grandma that she'd keep the the kids for the night YAHOO for me!! We got to our hotel & had wine & then took a shuttle to an AMAZING restaurant.

Dinner ... the waiter showed us the menu with real food, live lobster ect. It was GREAT. The food was amazing, being just with hubby was great & wow it's not even my birthday yet.

We tried to sleep in on my bday however the cell phone rang. It was grandma they had been without power for 11 hours all ready. I guess we picked a good night
to be away. Opps. We went & had breakfast, a hot top then got ready for the day.
We went to the mall hubby got a new blackberry & I got his. Yahoo for me again. Then after lunch hubby took me to the spa where I would spend the rest of my afternoon. Feet, hands, massage & hair. WOW.. That was relaxing. We ended the evening off by picking up the kids and grandma & going to dinner! What an amazing birthday

Weekend #2 over

I survived 4 12 hour days.. barely but I survived. My butt was dragging by day 4. Yet again I came home to all the laundry done, the house CLEANED, kids feed/in bed & the groceries done. This Sunday instead of a bath I came home to the front foyer painted. My hubby has TOO much energy! He rocks. Again I have nothing to do but hang with the girls, watch Oprah & eat bonbons all week.. (LOL)

LEAVES

Oh the leaves just keep coming. When will they ever stop?? My darling hubby works hours every Saturday to clean them up but this week it seems like by Wednesday there was triple the number he's even cleaned up! They just keep coming. Today is Saturday & again he's out there blowing the leaves far far away. Too bad they keep coming back. But it could be worse we could have no trees / privacy in our yard or SNOW. The kids have friends over today so there has been a few large piles of leaves made so that they could all run & jump & have lots of fun!

HUBBY

Hubby finally heard from the doctors office & the bone scan came back NORMAL!! Now he just needs to figure out what is causing his pain!

Hubby's back...

Well the week is over and another is soon starting & we are no further ahead! Last week alone hubby had 2 MRIs, Xray, appt with Family physician, appt with physiatrist, physiotherapy (PT) 3 changes to his medication regime & we aren't done yet.

I am happy to say the PT helped a little but hubby's pain is still HIGH!!! He's on some really strong pain killer & they are barely touching the pain. The Physiatrist is considering an epidural for pain relief (hello I had 3 babies without drugs & he's the one that might get the epidural)!

Tuesday is hopefully the last test to figure out what the heck is wrong with hubby. He is going for a bone scan which will take the better part of a day & it's basically to decide if "spots" on his pelvics are fat tissue or cancer. Have I mentioned I am grateful we are in the USA. I know having worked in the health care system in Canada not too long ago, what we have had done so far would have taken a heck of a lot longer than 10 days, not cost us as much (nearly nothing) but 10 days! We have been worried, stressed, not sleeping/eating well and I am grateful that its only 10 days! I can't imagine the stress on anyone going through any medical investigations in Canada!

HEALTH CARE

Most of you are aware we are Canadian & moved to the USA 18 months ago. Long enough to get pregnant & have an 8 month old. The Birthing experience was AMAZING & my prenatal care was also good. Anytime an ultrasound was required it occurred according to my schedule (actually hubby's). Yes I know we PAID a LOT of money for that kind of care.

Hubby has done something to his back (who knows how/what) but the pain has been horrible! Today we went to the doctor (called on a Monday morning & got in 3 hours later & didn't have to wait 2 hours once @ the office)! Then the doctor decided an MRI was needed. SHE walked out of the office & called the imagining centre & booked the MRI herself (yes she did not her nurse)! When she came back into our room & handed us the requisition the appt is scheduled for tomorrow @ 830pm. Yes within 36 hours of the call we have the MRI booked.

Hubby then came home & called the MRI place to see what their cancellation policy is in case the mitt full of drugs the doctor prescribed starts working & he can cancel at any time without penalty or being charge!! YAHOO.. I know if we have the MRI we will pay for that too (somewhat)! But boy is it nice to get the tests/procedures done quickly! It's not wait & see then wait some more for them to have an opening! This is as an out patient!!

My Hubby

My Hubby is a real romantic. Since before we were married he's always been able to pull off elaborate romantic events. For my birthday in 2002 he booked us into "INN ON THE TWENTY" for a valentines weekend get away! He went as far as packing my suitcase (did an awesome job)! He picked me up from work & off we went on a 2 hour drive to Niagara Region (Ontario Canada)& had an AMAZING romantic weekend! There have been many more romantic events since then but the one I'm going to talk about occur ed just yesterday.

We live in a town with no family & still haven't found / tried any babysitters, so our evenings are always spent at home! Saturday night we got the kids to bed & hubby went to have a cigar (every Sat. night) so I went down to play the WII. When he came down I was tired from boxing on the WII so I handed the controllers over to him. He claimed to have forgotten his beer upstairs, so being the nice wife that I am, I ran up the stairs to get it for him. I got to the top of the stairs & there were arrows drawn on paper all the way to the patio door leading to the pool! Hubby came up & we went out side. Hubby had lit & floated 25 candles in our pool it looked amazing. Then there were candles all around the pool deck & on our table too. There was also wine sitting there for us to enjoy! Who says you need to go out, spend a lot of money to have an AMAZING time. Sitting in my lounge chair with my best Friend, under the stars next to the pool all lit with floating candles that's a fun night!

Hubby on VITAMINS

Most of you that know us, know that my hubby is usually FULL of ENERGY. I've decided that we all could use vitamins in our house because I know we don't always eat exactly like we should. Well the line of vitamins that we are now taking has a challenge & that if you don't have more energy with in the first 90days they will give you all your money back. It didn't take even 2 weeks & hubby is FULL OF MORE energy. He's running circles around all of us. Yard work in the evenings. Last night he vacuumed the pool went swimming then vacuumed the stairs this was 11pm. I am so sorry for his staff, like he needed more energy at work!

Work Horse

My hubby is an work horse. I hope my girls get his STRONG work ethic. He was sicker than a dog, we've had a cold going through our house lately & it hit him hard. But after a little rest after breakfast there was NO stopping him till dinner time. Monday was Memorial Day here in the USA & that meant hubby was home one extra day with us & that meant work, work, work. Yesterday we decided it was time to clean out around the pool. We got one side done.. We took all the tiger lilies out &turned the soil, wedded & planted maybe a 1/8 of the lilies back in the garden. This took us from 11 a.m till 7pm. The girls are GREAT .. they play nicely together while we work work work. The baby napped lots. Wow. am I glad he's gone back to work so we can have a break!

Princess Party

There is soon to be a birthday at our house for a little princess. Hubby has been VERY busy getting the yard ready for his little Princess' party. She has invited 10 kids over to help her celebrate & asked that they all wear their princess gowns.
Hubby has huge ideas about the Chariot the girls will be picked up in when they arrive at our home & then party games. Let's just say hubby is having a GREAT time party planning. I think he missed his calling in life! He is amazing at everything he does. He could & does wear many hats, landscaper, party planner, interior decorator & excellent father/ hubby! Oh ya ... & great in Bed !!
