Friendship & Fate

My Hubby & I recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Looking back at how we met (again) I believe it was fate. We had known each other as kids but had not seen or spoke in 10+years & then met up & the circumstances were truly "fate" at work.

"Fate chooses your relations, you choose your friends."- Jacques Delille (1738 - 1813) French poet.

I've been fortunate to have some of the same friends from elementary/high school & meet great new friends ever time I've moved to a new city. To me quality of a friendship is way more important than quantity. Over the years, I've been lucky to have GREAT friends some who live close & some that live far but no matter the distance whenever we get on the telephone or get a chance to see each other it's like we were never apart!

"I find friendship to be like wine, raw when new, ripened with age, the true old man's milk and restorative cordial."- Thomas Jefferson

But I think there is a time in all our lives when we meet someone who we think is the real deal and build a Friendship, however it ends up dissolving for one reason or another. I don't think you ever truly get over the loss of that friendship! "Whoever says Friendship is easy has obviously never had a true friend!"- Bronwyn Polson

"I do not wish to treat friendships daintily, but with the roughest courage. When they are real, they are not glass threads or frost-work, but the solidest thing we know."- Ralph Waldo Emerson
