Usually you don't get a baby shower with every baby but I've been very fortunate that people have decided to have them for me thus far & this weekend will be #3 for baby #3.. Lets just hope I have better luck attending this one then the previous ones.
My first born's baby shower was scheduled 4 weeks before my due date on a lovely Sunday afternoon. It was being hosted by my sister who has no children & did not know 1/2 the people she had invited but hosted it anyways. She was pretty nervous when on the Saturday morning we stopped by her house to pick up the baby carseat (as we knew this was part of her gift to us) on our way to the hospital. Needless to say I did not make it to this shower as my baby came early on the Sunday morning! Thankfully it had been planned as a co-ed shower all along so TIRED/EXHAUSTED hubby went & opened a million presents! So I missed my first baby shower. Saw lots of pictures & it looked like a great time was had by all! Thanks Sis.
For my second born, my lovely sister again & a friend had planned one the day before my due date again a Sunday .. I'm seeing a pattern here.. baby showers & I on Sundays don't work. But my 2nd decided to come a few days early & well we were just coming home from the hospital on that Sunday, my friend decided it best to postpone the shower. At least it was rescheduled & baby & I were able to attend. But boy do my girls know how to mess up a shower.
So for this pregnancy again there is a shower being planned but the common thread, my sister, is not involved so maybe this one will go off without a hitch. This one is being planned by one of my hubby's staff members. We are 5 weeks away from my due date & it's on a Saturday.
So hopefully next week I'll be able to post pictures from a baby shower that I attended that did not have to be rescheduled & there won't be any newborn baby in the pictures. Lets keep our fingers crossed!
