WEATHER...ahhh

The weather is so unpredictable. One day we are outside in short sleeve shirts & the next we need the winter jackets & mittens.. Oh I can't wait for spring to Truly arrive. At least the snow is GONE..oh wait as I turn & look outside I think I see a flake or two.. hopefully it's pollen from some flower somewhere..

SNOW FUN

It takes so much work getting Preschoolers ready to go out in the snow you really hope they are going to play in it for a LONG time.
It all starts with encouraging them to use the bathroom. Then Snow pants, mittens, scarf, hats, boots & winter jackets. For two of them this takes a good 10-15 minutes, if the baby isn't crying & everything is where it should be. So they are all set to go. Oh wait they didn't bring down their "babies" to push in the strollers (how do you push a doll stroller in the snow). So just get back to the crying baby I suggest putting snow in the stroller for today as our baby! Okay so out the door they go. The middle girl goes straight for the yard with her stroller carrying it, picking up snow & adding it to the seat. The eldest went to their outside play kitchen realized there was ice build up in there & declared "I'm going in" So a total of maybe 5 minutes I had to get the baby to stop crying, nurse a little & then in comes one. So now I have to stand at the window & watch the younger one try & get her stroller out from the back yard with all this snow. She only fell backwards a few times. Then she starts yelling for her sister to help her with the stroller. So mama has to put on her snow boots & find a safe place to put the baby down out of helping big sisters reach & go out to help with the doll stroller. Luckily I was able to convince with little resistance that she come in & play in the playroom. So 25 minutes start to finish & I'm undressing them again!
Wow.. and I thought it was a great day to play out in the snow.. warm out & sunny 4 Celsius or 39F.. now that's a nice day to play in the snow.. a mom would think anyways..

WEATHER

I guess pretty much all over Canada & the USA weather has been very weird lately. Last week & into the weekend we were having record breaking high temperatures of 90++ & here at our place we actually got into the pool for what I'm sure is the last dip of the year!

Then this week the weather has gone down way down. Today it is 59F or 15C that's a big change from 90+ weather we were having. I'm excited to turn the AC off & not having to turn the heat on but the girls are finding it very cool! I'm really not complaining about the weather change.. It's kinda nice to be able to wear different clothing/layers but putting socks on is a challenge. We've been fortunate to have had a LONG spring / summer the girls & I have been in flip flops since Mid March.. so I guess 7 months of warm weather is great when we live in the mid west & not Florida. At least we aren't living in parts of Canada where they are calling for snow.. not ready for that white stuff yet!

The girls are excited to be able to wear their tights. Now that's not very much fun for a pregnant mama.. Both my girls are potty trained (bonus) but that doesn't mean they have 100% mastered doing it all by themselves. The youngest frequently still comes out with her clothing around her ankles & this has only gotten worse with the addition of tights. My other daughter looks like she has elephant legs cuz she forgets to pull the tights up from the ankles & has lots of roles of tights there. So in turn this is causing increased bending over on my part & lets just say pass the TUMS.. heartburn city is where we are living now!
