Baby #3

I just got a call from Prenatal Doctor that I didn't want. During every pregnancy you have to have a 1 hour blood sugar test to see if you have gestational Diabetes or not. I did this test a little more than 4 weeks ago. My results for that first test for at the high end of normal & the doctor wanted it repeated in 4 weeks. That second test I failed so it was off to sit in the lab for 3 hours & have 4 different blood draws done & the results are in Even though of the 4 blood draws not all my results were abnormal enough were to ..... I FAILED. .. so now I am considered to have Gestational Diabetes.

So what does all this mean, I probably will have to change Doctors as I am currently with a low risk practitioner & am moving over into the high risk category so off to OB service I will probably go. This is not something I look forward to as I was very excited about having the same Doctor who preformed all my prenatal care actually be the doctor who delivered my baby. But we need to be smart & do what is best for baby & I at this point.

I will need to have many TEST/ULTRASOUNDS between now & delivery to monitor baby's size & how much she is moving.

I have to go to a special class to learn what I can eat. The Doctor is hopeful that with my results only slightly abnormal I will be able to control this diagnosis with diet / exercise alone!

Lets hope the baby doesn't get too big I really would like to have a natural birth!

So out of the house goes all snacks (sorry hubby) & sugar drinks.

Don't be sad honey. I know you want natural but as long as she is healthy that's all that really matters.

We will do whatever it takes to take care of you & I am right by your side !! Hey maybe I'll even loose some weight by getting rid of the snack !!!

I LOVE YOU !
